As we move deeper into 2025, web design continues to evolve at a rapid pace. For small and medium-sized businesses in Bristol, keeping your website modern and effective is essential to remain competitive and engaging online. Here’s what’s trending this year.

1. Bold, Block-Based Layouts

These designs use clear visual hierarchy, white space, and modular sections to guide users through content more intuitively. This trend works well for service-based businesses looking to present information clearly.

2. Micro-Animations for Engagement*

Micro-animations, like button hovers, form transitions, or scrolling effects help create a sense of interactivity. They’re especially effective for drawing attention to calls to action without being overwhelming.

3. Dark Mode Compatibility

More users are opting for dark mode on their devices. Offering this option improves user comfort and gives your site a sleek, modern edge.

4. Typography-Led Design

Strong, expressive fonts are now a key design element, particularly when paired with minimalist layouts. They allow your messaging to stand out while keeping visual clutter to a minimum.

5. Fully Responsive, Mobile-First Layouts

This isn’t a new trend, but it’s more essential than ever. With mobile traffic dominating most industries, a seamless experience across all devices is a non-negotiable.

6. Voice Search & Accessibility Features

Adding schema markup and optimising for voice queries helps your content appear in voice searches, especially important for local SEO in Bristol. Adding Schema Markup to the websites we build for our clients forms part of the onsite SEO package we offer.

7. AI Chatbots & Automation

Integrated chat features and smart contact forms help increase user engagement and reduce missed leads, especially after hours. AI chatbot solutions can be integrated to all of our websites.

8. 3D Visuals and Parallax Effects**

Used sparingly, these add depth and dimension. They’re especially popular in e-commerce or portfolio sites showcasing physical products or design work.

9. Sustainable Web Design

Faster load times, leaner code, and optimised assets are better for users and the environment. Many Bristol-based SMEs are increasingly eco-conscious, so this could be a selling point. We use one of the fastest web builders on the market for most of our website designs.

10. Personalisation Through User Behaviour

Websites that remember preferences, location, or prior interactions are seeing improved conversions. Tailored CTAs and dynamic content improve user journeys.

Smarter Websites for a Smarter Web As part of our commitment to keeping your website ahead of the curve, we’re now automatically including a special file called llms.txt on all newly published sites. This simple yet powerful update helps ensure your website is accurately represented in AI search tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and others that are shaping the future of how people discover information online. What is llms.txt - and Why Should You Care? Think of llms.txt as an AI-friendly sitemap. It lists the live, indexable pages on your site, along with their meta descriptions, so that large language models (LLMs) can pull the most relevant, up-to-date info straight from your actual content.

Jack and his two brothers-in-law are taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge to raise funds for LATCH Children's Cancer Charity! ( www.latchwales.org ) The cause is incredibly close to his family's heart as his nephew, Joey, Romano’s little boy, was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer aged one years old, just as the COVID-19 pandemic began. It was a helpless time for Jack and his family, unable to offer any support in person whilst Joey was going through treatment, but charities like LATCH provided incredible support when nobody else could. Thankfully, Joey is in full recovery now, although he still undergoes many scans. Now they would love to give back and help ensure LATCH can continue to help other families in need so on 30th August they have decided to walk the three highest peaks in the UK to raise money for LATCH. They are funding the trip themselves so any donations you can make to Latch to help make a difference would be amazing! Just click the link below to donate.
